The Long Walk
It's perhaps the Long Walk that most visitors experience when coming to Windsor, although most tend to congregate around the castle gates. The walk itself extends from the castle to Snow Hill, where the copper horse statue can be seen - behind the copper horse is a statue of King George III.
The walk is around 2.6 miles (4.2 km) each way and is a lovely way to spend some time in all seasons, it's really perfectly straight so you can't get lost!
Post walk refreshments can of course be obtained in the wonderful Two Brewers pub which can be found in Park St, just by the Castle gates...note no children allowed inside but dogs welcome :-) Alternatively if you are looking to miss the crowds the Windsor Castle pub is around 1km away from the Castle on your left hand side as you approach...it has a rather nice conservatory and also some parking (shhhh).
There are no refreshments or bathrooms on the walk (be prepared) and sadly no bins - so please take your rubbish home with you! Also bicycles are not permitted on the Long Walk, even if not ridden.
