HOW IT GOT STARTED

It started in a pub...

Like so many great ideas the concept of this website and all it contains started in one of Windsor's many pubs.

 

The idea was simple, to highlight the real and often unseen Windsor as well as highlighting some of the amazing things in the Town that are often taken for granted. So it started with a few photographs being shared between friends and something of an effort to outdo each other by finding more obscure things.

 

Then COVID-19 came along, suddenly we were faced with more time at home and the concept grew - the website was launched and the random images and information that had been gathered ad-hoc started to form pages.

 

The grand ambition is to create small collections of images, walking guides and maps that will allow you to navigate the less well-known sites of town...all with a view of highlighting wonderful Windsor!

Who would have thought that so many people would be interested in this concept...so it has grown to include "Postboxes of Windsor" (August 2020), "walks of Windsor" (December 2020) and recently "Pubs of Windsor" (August 2021. Now with regular contributions now coming from Albert and Michael who both seem to enjoy sending images of themed bits and bobs - thanks guys!
